As a top executive for one of Wall Street's largest investment banking firms, Karen Tekulsky has honed her investing and negotiating skills, and is now bringing that expertise to the real estate market for Atlanta Intown Real Estate Services.

Karen has spent much of her career in the highly competitive arena of corporate investments. She joined the Atlanta office of Bear Stearns, the major investment house, after graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She quickly rose through the company and became Vice President of Investments and then an Associate Director of the firm as one of the firm's top 10 percent of producers. This was in the late 1980's, when few women worked in such high levels at Wall Street-based companies. She worked primarily with CEOs of large and small companies-including Fortune 500 firms-as an investment advisor. She left Bear Stearns after five years and joined Raymond James & Associates, another top firm, as Senior Vice President of Investments.
After three years there, she left to develop and manage her own equity hedge fund.

However, Karen always had a strong interest in real estate and had already invested in many properties. She received her real estate license and joined Atlanta Intown in December 2001. In 2004, and again in 2005, she became a Member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors' Million Dollar Club, and in 2006, she was named a Life Member.

She is focused on helping clients find residential, commercial, and investment real estate properties at superb values. Karen's strong negotiating and pricing skills help clients who are making what is usually the largest investment in their portfolios.

Karen has spent 15 years in Atlanta and has lived in Decatur, Morningside, and now resides in Virginia Highlands. She has held positions on neighborhood association boards as well as architectural review committees. She is an active board member for an Atlanta women's cancer support and service organization. Having performed at The Punchline Comedy Club in Sandy Springs as well as Eddie's Attic in Decatur in the mid-90's, Karen prides herself on bringing a sense of humor to many situations. She currently holds a blue-belt in American Karate, and she is working toward her black belt. She is an avid runner, hiker, and skier. She lives with her cat, Meow.
